About This Product 💥
Key feature
Air hardening clay in terracotta, a warm earth tone that looks finished even without paint. It needs no oven and no kiln: shape it, leave it and it hardens on its own. This block weighs 500g.
Specifications
| Type | Air dry modelling clay |
| Material | Clay |
| Colour | Terracotta |
| Weight | 500g |
| Dry time | About 24 hours thin, several days thick |
Perfect for
- Ganesha idols with a clay look
- Folk art figures
- School projects
- Larger pieces that need more clay
Compatibility
Works with: clay modelling tools, rolling pins, silicone moulds, cutters, wire armatures, and MDF or canvas bases.
Pairs well with: acrylic paints, varnish, craft glue and armature wire.
Not suitable for: oven or kiln firing, holding water or food, or outdoor use unless sealed.
Before You Buy
- It shrinks a little as it dries. Build thick pieces round a wire or foil armature so the outside does not dry faster than the inside and crack.
- Dried pieces are not waterproof. Seal with varnish, and we state no food grade rating for this clay, so keep it away from food.
- Want a branded block for finished pieces? The Jovi and CEC clays cost more and suit display work.
