Frequently Asked Questions
How much mineral spirit is in the bottle?
100ml, printed on the pack as 75ml plus 25ml extra.
How is it different from distilled turpentine?
Both thin oil paint and clean brushes. Mineral spirit has far less smell; turpentine has a strong smell that some painters still prefer.
Can I use it with acrylic paint?
No. Clean acrylic brushes with water or an acrylic brush cleaner.
Do I still need linseed oil?
Mineral spirit only thins paint and cleans brushes. Linseed oil is the medium that adds flow and gloss, so many oil painters use both.
