About This Product 💥
Key feature
Give a finished acrylic painting a protective satin top coat. Brustro Professional Satin Varnish is a water based, mid viscosity fluid varnish that you brush over dry artwork, and the label describes it as permanent. A satin coat leaves a soft sheen that sits between matte and gloss. This bottle holds 100ml.

- Evening out patchy sheen across a finished piece
- Protecting painted MDF and wood craft before display
- Wall art and gifts that need a satin surface
Compatibility
Works with: dry acrylic paintings on canvas, canvas board, wood, MDF and heavy paper.
Pairs well with: a soft, wide flat brush kept only for varnish.
Not suitable for: wet or unfinished paint; it is permanent, so it cannot be lifted off later to clean the painting.
How to Use
- Let the painting dry completely and dust the surface.
- Stir the bottle gently so no bubbles form.
- Brush on one thin, even coat in one direction.
- Let it dry fully before adding a second thin coat if needed.
Before You Buy
- This is a permanent varnish; test it on a spare painted scrap first.
- No drying time is stated here; follow the directions on the bottle.
- Varnish can look slightly hazy in the bottle; the seller note says it dries fully transparent.
- Need more? The same satin varnish also comes in a 200ml bottle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Brustro satin varnish removable?
No. The label describes it as permanent, so it stays on the painting once dry.
How is satin different from the gloss and matte varnish?
Satin gives a soft sheen between matte and gloss. Matte takes the shine away and high gloss gives the strongest shine. All are Brustro water based varnishes.
Can I use it on oil paintings?
It is sold for acrylic work. Only varnish an oil painting once it is completely dry, and test first.
