Frequently Asked Questions

How many colours are in the Camel 24 shade gouache set?
24 shades in 9ml tubes, plus 2 artist brushes.

How is this different from the Camel 12 shade gouache set?
This set has 24 shades and 2 brushes. The 12 shade set has half the colours and no brush, in the same 9ml tubes.

Which paper suits gouache?
Watercolour paper or heavy drawing paper, so the sheet does not buckle when wet.

Gouache or watercolour: which should I pick?
Gouache is opaque and dries matte, so it covers the layer beneath. Watercolour is transparent and builds in washes. Pick gouache for flat, bold illustration and watercolour for soft, see through washes.
