Oil pastels are creamy and bind with oil and wax, so they do not dust and need no fixative. The Camel Artist soft pastels (20 or 36 shades) are powdery, blend very softly and need fixing or framing. Pick oil pastels for school and bold colour, soft pastels for portraits and soft blends.
