Turn a thick resin pour, wood slice or layered MDF board into a working wall clock with this ticking quartz movement. It has a 28mm spindle that fits boards up to 17mm thick, takes hands with a 5.1mm hour hole and runs on one AA battery (not included). The spindle is the threaded shaft that comes out of the front, and it must pass through your clock face and still leave a little thread for the nut, so this long one is made for thick boards.

Compatibility

How to Use

1. Measure your board, including any dial sheet or backing, and check it is 17mm thick or thinner.
2. Take the nut and washer off the shaft. If you use a movement hanger hook, slip it over the shaft now.
3. Push the shaft through the centre hole from the back, put the washer on at the front and tighten the nut until the movement sits firmly.
4. Point every hand at 12 as you fit it: press on the hour hand first, then the minute hand, then the second hand.
5. Put in one AA battery and set the time with the knob on the back.

• The AA battery is not included.
• On a thin board this long shaft makes the hands stand further out from the face, so choose a shorter spindle for thin dials.
• This is a standard movement, so keep the minute hand to about 150mm or shorter.
