Frequently Asked Questions

How many pieces come in the set?
The set holds 5 wooden pieces: 4 ribs and 1 modelling stick.

What does a pottery rib do?
A rib smooths, shapes and compresses the clay wall, which helps stop cracks as the piece dries.

How is this different from the 10 piece plastic set?
This set has 5 wooden ribs and a stick for pottery shaping; the plastic set has 10 small modelling tools for detail work.

How do wooden clay tools compare with plastic ones?
Wood is not sealed, so it takes up moisture from wet clay and should be wiped dry rather than soaked. Plastic tools can be washed in warm water. Pick wood for a warm grip and pottery work, plastic for easy cleaning.
