Press thin clay between these two silicone halves to make a feather with fine barbs on both faces, ready to cut, curl and paint. Each half is 8x3.4cm (3.1x1.3 inch), and a snip along the edges turns the pressed piece into a soft, natural looking feather.

How to Use

1. Roll clay thin and cut a feather a little larger than the veiner.
2. Press it between the two halves firmly and evenly.
3. Peel the feather off, snip the edges into barbs and curve it before it sets.

How big is the feather veiner?
Each of the 2 halves is 8x3.4cm (3.1x1.3 inch).

How is this different from the leaf veiner?
This one presses an 8x3.4cm feather with fine barbs. The leaf veiner is 7x4.5cm and presses a serrated leaf.

Can I pour resin into it?
The halves are shallow, so a thin layer of UV resin works best; for thicker resin feathers choose the long feather multi cavity mould.

Should I press air dry clay or polymer clay into it?
Air dry clay hardens in the open air and shrinks a little, so pick it for wall art and decor. Polymer clay only sets once baked and does not shrink, so pick it for jewellery and fine detail, and lift it out of the mould before baking.
