Frequently Asked Questions

Which grades are in this 12 pencil tin?
2H, H, HB, F, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, 7B and 8B, one of each.

How is this different from the 11 piece drawing set?
This tin has 12 graphite pencils only. The 11 piece set has 4 graphite pencils plus charcoal pencils, erasers, a stump and a sharpener.

Is a 12 grade set good for a beginner?
Yes. Having one of each grade lets a beginner see how H and B pencils differ, which is the fastest way to learn shading.

Graphite pencils or charcoal, which should I pick?
Graphite draws grey with a slight sheen and erases cleanly; charcoal draws matte black and smudges. Pick graphite to learn control and detail, charcoal for bold dark drawings.
