Compatibility

How to Use

1. Wash and dry the new mould before the first pour.
2. Stand the mould upright and level so both cavities fill evenly.
3. Melt and colour your wax, then let it cool slightly so the crimped edge sets sharp instead of slumping.
4. Pour into one cavity at a time, filling slowly along the curve so no air sits in the crimped border.
5. Tap the tray to bring bubbles up, then top up as the wax dips while cooling.
6. Leave both halves to set fully before you touch them.
7. Flex the rim outward and lift each gujiya out on its own.
8. Trim the seam line at the crimped edge with a warm blade if you want a cleaner finish.

Why is my gujiya coming out with a soft edge?

The crimped border needs wax that has cooled a little before pouring. Very hot wax runs into the fine crimps and rounds them off as it shrinks, so let it thicken slightly first and let the piece set at room temperature.
