How to Use

1. Wash and dry the new mould before the first pour.
2. Stand it upright in a small cup or holder so the deep cavity stays level.
3. Melt your wax, colour it a deep amber or brown off the heat, and let it cool slightly.
4. Pour in stages rather than all at once, since a deep cavity traps heat and sinks in the middle.
5. Tap the sides to bring bubbles up through the wax.
6. Top up the dip that forms as the wax cools, then leave it to set fully.
7. Flex the mould wall all the way round before easing the jamun out.
8. Fit the wick with a sticker or drill a hole down the centre once it is firm.

Both are deep single cavity moulds, but the gulab jamun cavity is smooth and rounded like a fried sweet while the ladoo cavity is covered in fine bead texture. The ladoo mould is also slightly larger at 4.5 x 6 cm. Choose by the surface you want, smooth or bumpy.

Does this mould work with epoxy resin?

Yes, flexible silicone takes epoxy resin, plaster and soap base as well as wax. Deep resin pours cure slowly, so follow your resin maker instructions on pour depth. No food grade rating is stated for this mould.

Why does the top of my candle sink in the middle?

That is normal in a deep mould. Wax shrinks as it cools, so pour in two stages and top up the dip once the first pour has started to firm, then let it set slowly at room temperature.
