Frequently Asked Questions
What size is the Pan Art Leo 16x20 inch linen canvas?
It is 16x20 Inch (40.6x50.8cm), 400 GSM linen on a seasoned pine stretcher frame.
How is it different from the 12x16 inch Leo canvas?
This one is 16x20 Inch (40.6x50.8cm). The 12x16 Inch (30.5x40.6cm) size gives a smaller format that is quicker to finish, on the same linen and priming.
Can I use oil and acrylic on it?
Yes. The maker states it is triple primed with acrylic titanium gesso and suits oil, acrylic and alkyd painting, so no extra gesso is needed.
Should I pick linen or the Pan Art cotton canvas?
Linen has a firmer fibre and a finer, irregular grain that many oil painters prefer for detail and finished pieces. Cotton has a rounder, more even weave and costs less, so it suits practice and most acrylic work.
