About This Product ๐ฅ
Key feature
Overview
Cast a peda with the pressed petal mark on top, the detail that makes people look twice before they realise it is a candle. The mould is a squat round cavity about 2.5 x 5.4 cm, so the finished sweet sits low and flat like the real thing and burns as a wide votive. It is the smallest of the ladoo and peda shapes here, which makes it the cheapest way to add volume to a Diwali gift set.

Pairs well with: cotton and pre waxed wicks, candle dyes and colour chips, fragrance and aroma oils, wick stickers and wick holders.
Not suitable for: food use, since no food grade rating is stated for this mould. Not for oven baking, direct flame, or use as a burning vessel. Do not cut or trim wax inside the mould with a blade.
How to Use
- Wash and dry the new mould before the first pour.
- Sit it level on a tray so the flat base sets true.
- Melt your wax, add colour and fragrance off the heat, and let it cool slightly.
- Pour into the centre so the wax spreads out into the petal impression.
- Tap the tray to lift trapped air out of the pressed top detail.
- Let it set fully at room temperature so the flat face does not sink.
- Push gently on the base and peel the silicone back to release.
- Add the wick with a sticker, or drill a hole once the candle is firm.
Before You Buy
- Sold as the silicone mould only. Wax, wick, colour and fragrance are not included.
- No food grade rating and no heat rating are stated for this mould, so keep it to wax, resin and soap and pour at the lowest workable temperature for your wax.
- The silicone is milky white. The yellow and orange peda candles in the photograph are examples of what you can cast.
- The measurement given is the mould, so the finished peda sits slightly inside it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big is the finished peda candle?
The mould measures about 2.5 x 5.4 cm, so you get a low round sweet roughly 5.4 cm across and 2.5 cm deep. That is close to a real peda and it burns as a wide votive.
How is this different from the Gulab Jamun mould?
The peda mould is a shallow disc with a flat top and a pressed petal mark. The Gulab Jamun mould is a deep cylinder that casts a rounded ball. The peda uses less wax and stacks neatly in a box, the gulab jamun stands alone as a chunkier candle.
Can I use this mould for soap and resin too?
Yes. Flexible silicone takes melt and pour soap base, epoxy resin and plaster as well as candle wax. We state no food grade rating for this mould, so use it for craft casting only.
Will the petal detail on top show up clearly?
It will if the wax has cooled a little before pouring and you tap the tray to release air. Very hot wax runs thin and softens the impression as it shrinks back.
