About This Product 💥
Key feature
Seal your painted pieces with a flat, no shine clear coat. A clear coat is a colourless top layer sprayed over dry paint to set the final sheen and add a protective layer. This JAGS Ultra Acrylic Clear Matte comes in a 400ml aerosol can, enough for bigger pieces or several items.

Perfect for
- Sealing spray painted boxes, frames and trays
- Setting a matte, modern finish on decor
- Top coat over colours from the same range
- Furniture makeovers and larger pieces
Compatibility
Works with: canvas, paper, metal, wood and walls, the surfaces on the maker's label, over dry colours from the Ultra Acrylic range.
Pairs well with: any Ultra Acrylic colour shade underneath.
Not suitable for: thermocol and other polystyrene foam, because the solvents can melt foam.
How to Use
- Let the paint underneath dry fully, then test on a hidden spot.
- Shake the can for about 5 minutes until the mixing ball rattles freely.
- Spray from 10 to 12 inches (25 to 30cm) in light, even coats about 5 minutes apart; a heavy coat can run.
- Turn the can upside down and spray for a few seconds to clear the nozzle.
Before You Buy
- This is a colourless top coat, not a paint colour.
- The can is pressurised and flammable. Spray in a ventilated space away from flames.
- This is the 400ml can; the 150ml can is listed separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Clear Matte spray 400ml?
Yes. This can holds 400ml. The same clear coat also comes in a 150ml can.
What is the difference between Clear Matte and Clear Glossy?
Clear Matte dries flat with no shine. Clear Glossy dries with a shine. Both are colourless.
Can I spray it over brush acrylics on canvas?
Canvas is on the maker's label. Over brush acrylics or another brand, let the paint dry fully and test on a hidden spot first, as the maker advises.
Can I use it on thermocol?
