Perfect for
- Two matching wall pieces
- A Lippan pair for a living room or entrance
- Diwali and housewarming gifts
- Art class projects on Indian folk art
- Practising Lippan before working on a large board
Compatibility
Works with: the Mouldit, mirrors and glue in the box, plus extra Lippan mirrors and any acrylic colours.
Pairs well with: gold or silver Lippan mirrors and a hanging hook for each board.
Not suitable for: outdoor walls or damp rooms, since MDF swells when wet.
How to Use
- Roll Mouldit into thin coils and lay them on the printed lines of one board.
- Set the mirrors into the coils while the clay is soft, using the fabric glue where a mirror will not hold.
- Let the clay dry fully before painting.
- Paint the coils with the Fevicryl shades and repeat on the second board.
Before You Buy
- The finished boards in the photographs are examples. The kit arrives as separate parts.
- Near twin: the Fevicryl Lippan canvas kit has one 5x5 Inch (12.7x12.7cm) canvas, so pick it for a small first try.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many boards come in the Art of India Lippan kit?
Two pre printed MDF boards, each 20x25cm (7.9x9.8 inch).
How is this different from the Lippan canvas kit?
This kit has two boards of 20x25cm (7.9x9.8 inch), and the canvas kit has one canvas of 5x5 Inch (12.7x12.7cm).
Will the mirrors be enough for both boards?
The kit holds mirrors 2 packets x 90gm. Add a pack of Lippan mirrors if you want denser work.
Is Lippan harder than mandala painting?
Lippan needs clay coil work and mirror setting, so it takes longer. Mandala painting is colour only, so it is quicker for a first project.
