Specifications

Perfect for

• Rustic and earthy decor pieces
• Neutral bases for planters, trays and boxes
• Aged wood and upcycled furniture accents
• Small crafts, touch ups and sample pieces

Compatibility

Works with: canvas, paper, metal, wood and walls, the surfaces named on the maker's label, when clean and dry.

Pairs well with: Clear Glossy or Clear Matte from the same Ultra Acrylic range to set a final sheen, and masking tape for clean edges.

Not suitable for: thermocol, styrofoam and other polystyrene foam, because the solvents in the paint can melt foam.

How to Use

1. Clean the surface and make sure it is dry and free of oil, grease, wax and flaking paint. Test on a hidden spot first.
2. Shake the can hard for about 5 minutes, until the mixing ball rattles freely.
3. Hold the can 10 to 12 inches (25.4 to 30.5cm) from the surface, press the nozzle fully and keep the can moving.
4. Build up 3 to 4 light coats about 5 minutes apart rather than one heavy coat.
5. Turn the can upside down and spray for a few seconds to clear the nozzle after use.

Before You Buy

• The shade reads more muted and greyish than a terracotta brown, so go by the photo rather than the name.
• The maker does not state a sheen level. Top it with Clear Glossy or Clear Matte for a set finish.
• The can is pressurised and extremely flammable. Spray in a well ventilated space, away from flames, and keep it away from children.
• Wait 48 hours before sanding or polishing a painted piece, as the maker advises.

You will Need

• masking tape for clean edges

Frequently Asked Questions

How much paint is in this Terra Brown can?
This is the 150ml can. Most shades in the Ultra Acrylic range also come in a 400ml can, which suits bigger pieces.

How is Terra Brown different from Signal Brown?
Terra Brown reads muted and greyish in our photo. Signal Brown is a warmer reddish brown, also sold in a 150ml can.

Can I spray it on metal and wood outdoors?
The maker's label names metal, wood and walls and states the paint is weatherproof and UV resistant. Prepare the surface well and test on a hidden spot first.

Should I pick spray paint or bottle acrylic paint?
Spray paint covers large, curved and textured surfaces evenly with no brush marks, so pick it for furniture, frames and props. Bottle acrylic gives more control for detail and small painted designs.
