About This Product 💥
Key feature
Marble powder is the base many Lippan artists mix their own paste from, and a kilogram goes a long way. This is a fine white powder that blends with white glue or an acrylic medium into a smooth paste, then dries hard and takes paint. Mix it thin for a smooth ground or thick for raised relief.

Perfect for
- Lippan art relief and cone work
- Raised texture grounds on canvas and MDF
- Mandala and dot art bases
- Home made modelling and moulding pastes
Compatibility
Works with: white craft glue, acrylic mediums and binders, MDF, canvas, wood and wall surfaces.
Pairs well with: Lippan mirrors, acrylic paints and a piping cone or palette knife.
Not suitable for: use on its own, since it needs a binder, and pieces soaked or left outdoors unsealed.
How to Use
- Put the binder in a bowl first, white glue or an acrylic medium, and add the powder a spoon at a time.
- Mix to a soft peak for cone work, or looser for spreading.
- Test on a scrap first. Too much powder cracks as it dries.
- Let it dry hard, then sand lightly and paint.
Before You Buy
- This is a raw powder, not a ready paste. It needs a binder such as white glue.
- Fine powder gets airborne easily, so mix slowly in a ventilated room.
- Store it sealed and dry.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much powder is in the jar?
1kg of fine white marble powder.
What do I mix it with?
White craft glue is the usual choice for Lippan work. An acrylic medium works for texture grounds. On its own it stays a powder.
Can it replace ready made Lippan paste?
Yes. Mixing your own costs less per panel and lets you set the thickness, after a test batch or two.
Should I pick marble powder or sculpture paste?
Marble powder is a dry base you mix yourself with glue, so you control the thickness. Sculpture paste is ready to use straight from the tub. Pick the powder for large Lippan panels and the paste for quick casting.
