Kuretake Gold Mica Ink | 60ml | Shimmer Pigment Ink - Dip Pen & Brush Lettering

Write and paint gold lettering that catches the light. Kuretake Gold Mica Ink is a shimmering gold ink in a 60ml hexagonal bottle with a black screw cap, made for dip pens and brushes rather than for filling a fountain pen. Mica ink is a pigment ink that carries fine shimmer particles; they settle in the bottle, so you shake it well before each use, and the brilliant gold then shows on both white and black paper, as the swatch photo shows.

How to Use

1. Shake the closed bottle well so the shimmer mixes back into the ink.
2. Dip a nib or brush and wipe the excess on the rim.
3. Write or paint, then leave the work flat until it is fully dry.
4. Shake again when the shimmer starts to settle during a long session.
5. Clean nibs and brushes straight after use and close the cap tightly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much ink is in the bottle?
One 60ml bottle of brilliant gold mica ink.

What is the difference between this ink and the Gold Mica Ink Paste?
This 60ml bottle is a liquid ink for dip pens and brushes. The 30g paste is thick, is thinned with water and suits brush work and bold strokes.

Can I fill a fountain pen or brush pen with it?
No. Use it with dip pen nibs and brushes only, as the shimmer particles can block a pen feed.

Gold mica ink or the white calligraphy ink for dark paper?
Both are for dip pens and brushes. This 60ml gold ink gives a shimmering metallic line; the 40ml white calligraphy ink gives a plain opaque looking line. Pick gold for shine, white for clean contrast.
